Celine Dion<\/span><\/span> has a rare neurological condition called stiff person syndrome (SPS)<\/strong>, which forced her to pause performing. The disorder causes severe muscle stiffness and painful spasms that affect her ability to walk and sing, and can be triggered by noise, touch, or stress. She revealed her diagnosis in December 2022, leading to the cancellation of tour dates.<\/p>\n

SPS is a rare autoimmune disease affecting the brain and spinal cord, and in serious cases it can significantly limit mobility.<\/p>\n

Dion has said the illness has made daily life and singing very difficult.
