Pit bulls are often labeled aggressive, but a dog\u2019s behavior depends on how it\u2019s raised. No dog is born evil\u2014and one pit bull proved that by becoming a hero.<\/p>\n

Five-year-old Remayah Hernandez was riding her bike when she approached a neighbor\u2019s loose Labrador, hoping to pet it. Instead, the dog attacked her, biting her face. As Remayah screamed for help, her family\u2019s pit bull, Trigger, heard her cries, jumped the fence, and attacked the Labrador to protect her.<\/p>\n

Animal control later took the Labrador and it was euthanized. Remayah was rushed to the hospital and treated for her injuries, which required plastic surgery. The family had to use their Disney World savings to cover medical costs.<\/p>\n

An online fundraiser was created so Remayah could still go to Disney World, raising $1,000 to make her wish come true. Though traumatized, Remayah is grateful to Trigger\u2014now calling him her \u201csuperhero\u201d\u2014for saving her life.<\/p>\n

Everyone was relieved that she recovered quickly from the terrifying incident.<\/p>\n
