Television has lost one of its most familiar faces. Anne Schedeen, best known as Kate Tanner on ALF<\/em>, has died at the age of 77.<\/p>\n

Schedeen was widely loved for her warm, grounded performance as the heart of the Tanner family in the hit NBC sitcom, helping make the unusual story of a suburban family living with an alien feel relatable and heartfelt.<\/p>\n

Her family announced her peaceful passing in a Facebook statement, remembering her as a creative, humorous, and deeply loving person who cherished art, family, and her many passions.<\/p>\n

Born in 1949 in Portland, Oregon, Schedeen overcame a shy childhood to build a long television career, appearing in major shows like The Six Million Dollar Man<\/em>, Cheers<\/em>, and Murder, She Wrote<\/em> before becoming a household name on ALF<\/em> from 1986 to 1990.<\/p>\n

Away from acting, she pursued art, writing, and charitable work. Her agent said she \u201cmeant the world\u201d to those who knew her.<\/p>\n

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, her daughter, extended family, and beloved dogs.<\/p>\n

Her family has asked for donations to Habitat for Humanity in her memory, and fans will remember her as the calm, comforting presence who brought heart to television.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
