A tragic story in Chicago has brought both heartbreak and new life to one family. 32-year-old firefighter Michael Altman died after suffering fatal injuries while responding to a house fire, falling through a collapsing floor during the rescue.

A fourth-generation firefighter known for his bravery and dedication, Altman left behind his wife Nora and their young son, while the couple was also expecting their second child.
