Surveillance footage reportedly shows the suspect in the fatal stabbing of 81-year-old actor James Handy calmly leaving the scene before later returning and surrendering to police.
According to Fox 11 Los Angeles, 44-year-old Michael Gledhill, the son of Handy’s girlfriend, was captured on a doorbell camera walking away shortly after the stabbing outside a Los Angeles home, then returning and identifying himself to officers as the suspect.
Police responded around 9:30 a.m. after a 911 call from a man claiming responsibility. Handy was found with a chest stab wound and later died at the hospital.
Gledhill was arrested and charged with murder and is being held on $2 million bail as investigators continue to examine the motive.
Handy, a veteran character actor known for films like Top Gun: Maverick, Jumanji, and Birdman, had a career spanning over five decades in film and television.!!
