Film Legend, Known for 250+ Movies, Dead at 81

Udo Kier, the German cult film icon known for Blood for Dracula, Flesh for Frankenstein, My Own Private Idaho, and Blade, has died at 81 in Palm Springs.

His partner confirmed the news. No cause of death has been released.

Born in 1944, Kier appeared in over 250 films across nearly 60 years, working with directors like Fassbinder, von Trier, Herzog, and Van Sant. Famous for his striking presence and bold roles, he became a cult legend in both art-house and Hollywood cinema, later earning acclaim for Swan Song (2021).
