Actor Paul Avery (All My Children) and his wife Sheila have died after a tragic house fire in New Jersey.
Firefighters rescued the couple and performed CPR, but both later passed away from their injuries.
Avery, 81, was also a Vietnam veteran, skydiver, pilot, and newspaper founder, remembered by friends as an extraordinary and passionate man.
The couple had been married over four decades, and he had been caring for his wife after her stroke in recent years. Their daughter confirmed the heartbreaking loss, while authorities continue investigating the fire.
