After losing his firefighter father, 12-year-old Ethan noticed his disabled neighbor Caleb could only watch other kids play from his porch because his wheelchair couldn’t get past the stairs.
When Ethan learned Caleb’s mother couldn’t afford a ramp, he used the money he had saved for a bike and built one himself using the skills his father had taught him.
Seeing Caleb roll down the ramp for the first time filled the neighborhood with emotion. But the next day, a cruel neighbor destroyed it, calling it an “eyesore.” What she didn’t know was that her actions had been recorded and sent to the Foundation for Global Kindness, where she was being considered for a CEO position.
She lost the opportunity immediately, while Ethan’s kindness inspired the Foundation to build a permanent ramp for Caleb and dedicate part of a new adaptive community park in memory of Ethan’s father.
What began as one small act of kindness became a powerful reminder that compassion can truly change lives.
