During a difficult financial period, my husband Darren found a wallet full of cash and saw it as a way to help us. But I couldn’t stop thinking about the person who lost it, so while Darren was at work, I turned it in to the police.
When Darren found out, he was upset and felt I had chosen a stranger over our family. Days later, a man and his young son, Joshua, came to our home with a crayon drawing that read, “Thank you for being good people.” The man explained the money was meant for his son’s medical care and therapy.
Joshua said his mother taught him that kindness makes someone a hero. His words deeply touched us, and the drawing stayed on our fridge for years as a reminder that integrity matters most during hard times!!
