Margaret Whitaker, a 66-year-old widow, spent years caring for her son Derek and daughter-in-law Tara after they moved into her Ohio home “temporarily.” Over time, they treated her like unpaid staff—using her money, taking over her house, and expecting her to cook, clean, and support them without respect.
