Emma Edwards was just 10 years old when she lost her battle with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. After doctors told her family there were no more treatment options, her parents focused on making her final wishes come true.
Unlike many children who dream of meeting celebrities or visiting theme parks, Emma’s wish was to marry her longtime boyfriend, DJ. Their story touched the hearts of their community, inspiring volunteers known as “Emma’s Army” and support from the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
In less than two days, a beautiful wedding was organized through donations. On June 29, Emma arrived in a wheelchair wearing a purple dress, while DJ proudly waited for her at the altar. The young couple exchanged rings and vows, surrounded by family, friends, and supporters.
DJ described Emma as “the most beautiful person” he had ever seen, while her mother praised him for standing by her daughter throughout her illness and keeping her smiling.
Just weeks after her dream wedding, Emma passed away on July 11, 2023. She is remembered for her strength, humor, kindness, and the love she shared with everyone around her. Her touching story continues to inspire many and serves as a reminder to cherish every moment with those we love.!!
