ABBA Legend Passed Away At Age 80!!

ABBA has paid a heartfelt tribute to longtime sound engineer Michael B. Tretow, who passed away at the age of 80. Often called the “fifth member” of ABBA, Tretow played a crucial role in creating the band’s signature sound during their most successful years from 1970 to 1982.

Born in Sweden in 1944, Tretow became known for his innovative recording techniques, helping shape ABBA’s rich and polished music. Beyond ABBA, he worked on the musical Chess and collaborated with several Swedish artists while also releasing his own albums.

After suffering a stroke in 2001, Tretow gradually stepped away from music. Following his death, all four ABBA members shared rare and emotional tributes, honoring his lasting impact on the band and the music world. He is survived by his son, Rasmus Tretow, and his wife, Malin Hertzman.!!
