A California community in North Hills is in shock after a family of four was found dead in what authorities are calling a murder-suicide.
Police responded on May 27 to a home in the San Fernando Valley and discovered the bodies of a couple and their two young children: Marine Basmaijan (31), her husband Khajag (31), their 2-year-old son Alec, and their 6-day-old daughter Ella. Investigators say Marine fatally shot her husband and children before turning the gun on herself.
Officials confirmed Khajag and the children were homicide victims, while Marine’s death was self-inflicted. The case has left neighbors devastated, with some pointing to possible postpartum depression, though nothing has been confirmed.
A GoFundMe launched by relatives has raised over $170,000 to help cover funeral expenses, describing the family as loving and deeply cherished. It highlights Khajag as a devoted father, Marine as a caring mother, and the children as joyful and full of life.
The fundraiser says the family is now facing the heartbreaking task of laying all four to rest after an unimaginable loss.!!
