A 9-year-old San Diego girl died hours after a dental procedure at Dreamtime Dentistry in Vista.
Silvanna Moreno underwent a root canal, crown placement, and multiple extractions under anesthesia on March 18. She was discharged in stable condition but later became unresponsive at home and died after being rushed to hospital.
The medical examiner ruled her death accidental, linked to methemoglobinemia following nitrous oxide use. An internal review is ongoing.
