A neighbor left a note on our windshield: “One car per house.” We assumed it was a joke and ignored it.
Days later, both of our cars were being towed. We rushed outside and saw our neighbor watching from her porch, clearly pleased.
I calmly approached her and showed proof that both vehicles were company cars with commercial registration. The towing was illegal and would result in serious penalties.
Her confidence quickly faded as I explained the consequences. The tow truck drivers immediately stopped and returned both cars.
By evening, everything was settled through my employer’s legal team, and the towing company issued an apology with no further action needed.
The neighbor never left another note again. It was a clear reminder that assumptions can backfire, and facts end conflicts faster than anger ever will.
