Buddy survived a horrific attack — but look at him today ❤️🐾

A dog named Buddy survived a horrific attack in 2021 after being set on fire and left with severe facial burns and an extension cord around his neck.

He was taken in by the Tunica Humane Society and treated at Mississippi State University’s veterinary hospital, where he underwent multiple surgeries and skin grafts. Despite the severity of his injuries, his eyesight was ultimately saved.

His recovery was slow but remarkable—gradually, bandages were removed, his personality returned, and he began walking, playing, and engaging with caregivers again.

A major milestone came when Buddy was finally able to see again for the first time since the attack, bringing a huge emotional breakthrough in his recovery.

He still requires ongoing care due to lasting damage, but his condition has greatly improved, and he continues to heal thanks to dedicated veterinary support and rescue care.
