Greg Olsen is mourning the loss of his older brother, Chris Olsen, who died at 43 after battling glioblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer. The former NFL tight end and current Fox Sports analyst shared the news in an emotional Instagram post, honoring Chris’s strength, spirit, and love for life throughout his illness.
Chris, a former standout quarterback from Wayne Hills High School, played college football at Notre Dame before transferring to the University of Virginia, where he appeared in 13 games. Though he didn’t reach the NFL, his impact extended far beyond football.
In recent years, Chris lived in Little Rock, Arkansas, where friends and loved ones gathered in his final weeks to share memories, laughter, and tears. Greg wrote that it was important for Chris to feel the love he gave to others over his life.
The loss is especially painful for Chris’s wife, Lindsay, whom Greg described as the center of his brother’s world. Greg thanked supporters for their prayers and messages, saying the family has deeply felt the outpouring of love.
Chris Olsen is remembered as more than an athlete — he was a devoted husband, son, and friend whose compassion and larger-than-life personality left a lasting mark.
