My Husband Said He Only Wanted One Baby — After Our Twins Were Born, I Made Him Face the Truth
I never expected my husband to look at our daughters and see a problem.
When Carl and I found out we were having twins, I thought we were about to start the happiest chapter of our lives.
We prepared everything together.
We agreed I would leave my job temporarily and care for the babies because it made financial sense.
But after they were born, Carl became someone I barely recognized.
Every baby purchase became an argument.
He complained about bottles.
He complained about formula.
He complained about diapers.
Then came the moment I’ll never forget.
At the grocery store checkout, Carl saw the total and immediately grabbed the diapers.
“Take these off.”
I looked at him in disbelief.
“Our daughters need them.”
He replied coldly:
“Then buy them yourself when you go back to work.”
I felt humiliated.
Later that night, I asked him why he was acting this way.
His answer broke my heart:
“I wanted one child. Not two. I’m tired of paying for two kids.”
I couldn’t believe those words came from the man who held them in the hospital.
But I didn’t argue.
I simply said:
“Okay. I’ll go back to work.”
He thought he had solved the problem.
Then I continued:
“But before I do, you’re going to spend one full weekend taking care of both babies alone.”
No help.
No excuses.
No calling someone else.
Just him and his daughters.
That weekend taught him a lesson money never could.
