Homeless man asks Burger King worker ‘What can I get for $0.50?’ – the boy’s answer is wise beyond his years

When faced with someone in need, we can choose to walk away or help. While many people hesitate to assist strangers—especially the homeless—Burger King employee Matthew Resendez chose kindness.

In 2018, a homeless man asked Matthew what he could buy with 50 cents. Instead of saying “nothing,” Matthew rang up a full meal and paid for it himself. A customer who witnessed the act later tipped Matthew $100 and praised him to the company.

Matthew’s mother shared the story proudly on Facebook, highlighting her son’s compassion and generosity. His simple act showed empathy beyond his years—and proved that kindness often comes back when you least expect it.
