Rachel Tussey, a TikTok mom with more than 25,000 followers, has died at 47 after complications following a tummy tuck she documented on TikTok.
Before the February 25 surgery, the mother of three shared videos saying she had waited a long time for the procedure and felt she was in good hands. After the operation, her husband, Jeremy Tussey, said she suddenly became unresponsive in recovery. Medical staff performed CPR before she was rushed to TriHealth Bethesda North Hospital and placed on life support.
Doctors later told Jeremy she had gone more than six minutes without oxygen and suffered severe brain damage, and she was declared brain dead. Her family ultimately made the difficult decision to remove life support.
A GoFundMe page has raised over $21,000 for the family. Rachel is survived by her husband and their three children, and the family has hired a lawyer while seeking answers about what went wrong.
