Brazilian influencer Maria Rita Rodrigues da Silva, known online as Maria Rita, has died at the age of 25.
Her parents confirmed the news in a statement shared on social media, saying she passed away after a sudden illness, though the exact cause of death has not been revealed.
Rodrigues, who lived in São Bernardo do Campo, Brazil, had built a growing online following with more than 11,000 Instagram followers and 65,000 on TikTok, where she shared fashion, beauty tips, makeup tutorials, and product reviews.
Following her death, tributes poured in online. Friend and fellow creator Luana Lilian described her as a “charming person” whose presence could “light up a room.”
Just days before her passing, on Feb. 19, Rodrigues posted a photo wearing new sunglasses — a post that has now become her final social media update.
