Former U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi was reportedly fired by Donald Trump in April and later diagnosed with thyroid cancer shortly after leaving office. Axios reported that she has already undergone treatment and is now recovering.
Trump announced her departure on Truth Social, praising Bondi’s work and saying she was moving to a private-sector role, though no clear reason for her exit was given. She was replaced by Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche.
After news of her diagnosis became public, supporters shared messages of encouragement online. Former White House official Katie Miller wrote that Bondi had been “quietly kicking cancer’s ass.”
According to the Cleveland Clinic, thyroid cancer is considered highly treatable, with survival rates above 98% in many cases.
Bondi later thanked Trump for the opportunity to serve, calling his administration’s first year “historic” and saying she would continue supporting him in future roles!!
