Donald Trump mocked for sending “creepy” email to his supporters

Donald Trump sparked online mockery after sending a dramatic fundraising email to supporters on January 13 that quickly went viral. The unusual message came as Trump escalated rhetoric over Greenland and ahead of crucial midterm elections.

The email’s subject line, “I’m alon and in the dark,” portrayed Trump as working late alone, despite several typos throughout the message. He claimed to be sitting in a “war room” with a “dying laptop,” warning that failure to meet his fundraising goal would allow the “radical Left” to take over Congress in 2026. He tied this to fears of open borders, gun confiscation, indoctrinating children, and another “fake impeachment.”

Trump urged supporters to make a “small sacrifice,” saying the MAGA movement would “crumble” without donations. He offered a limited-edition 2025 Trump calendar to anyone who donated $47 within 30 minutes, ending the email with warnings that the country was on the brink of collapse.

The message was widely ridiculed on social media, with critics calling it “creepy,” “desperate,” and a “disgusting grift.” Many mocked the typos, tone, and theatrical language, questioning who wrote the email and why it made a sitting president appear isolated and panicked.
