NBC Host Sara Gore Reveals Breast Cancer Diagnosis
Sara Gore has revealed she has been diagnosed with breast cancer and will step away from her hosting roles on NBC New York’s Open House and New York Live for treatment and surgery.
Speaking on New York Live, she said she was “scared” to share the news publicly but felt it was important to tell viewers herself.
Gore, 49, noted she had a family history of breast cancer and considered herself high-risk, but said the diagnosis was still an emotional shock.
She added that she is receiving strong medical care and support from family and colleagues, whom she described as her “work family.”
Gore said the experience has made her reflect on life and what truly matters, as she focuses on treatment and recovery.
