Rhea discovers her husband Damon cheating and leaves with their 7-year-old son, Mark. Afterward, Damon texts her: “I’m taking the dog—you’ve got the kid,” while his mother mocks her.
Rhea files for divorce and full custody.
At the custody hearing, Damon’s family paints her as unstable, but everything changes when Mark asks to read a message from his father. The judge allows it, and the message reveals Damon pressured him to lie in court and threaten Rhea.
The courtroom falls silent. Damon tries to defend himself, but his story continues to unravel when family testimony shows he only wanted custody to “teach Rhea a lesson.”
The judge awards full custody to Rhea, along with child support and most of the assets.
After court, Rhea comforts Mark, reassuring him he is loved and never a burden. In the end, she walks away with custody, stability, and a fresh start for them both.
