Todd Meadows, a 25-year-old deckhand who appeared on Deadliest Catch, died on Feb. 25, Captain Rick Shelford announced on Facebook. Shelford said Meadows, the newest member of the Aleutian Lady crew, quickly became family and was known for his strong work ethic, love for fishing, and devotion to his children.
No official cause of death has been confirmed, but TMZ reported it was allegedly a fishing-related incident during filming. It’s unclear whether it was captured on camera.
The long-running Discovery Channel series, which debuted in 2005 and most recently aired Season 25 in August 2025, follows crab fishermen facing dangerous conditions in the Bering Sea.
A GoFundMe created in Meadows’ memory has raised nearly $15,000.
